What goes into the cost of a baby shower?

A baby welcome — a baby shower — is a small celebration for the mother and the new baby. Its full cost is the planner’s fee plus the invoices of the vendors who set it up:

Venue: a hall, restaurant or hotel, or the setup of your home or majlis.

Catering: a buffet, or whatever you choose to serve.

Decor: the backdrop, balloons, florals and a personalised sign.

Extras: the cake, photography, favours and any entertainment.

Only Zaina’s fee is known in advance, from AED 2,500. Each vendor prices its own line against your choices, and every line appears in the written quote before you commit.

What does a baby shower planner cost, and what is in the package?

A baby welcome usually sits inside Small Occasions, from AED 2,500 for 20 to 150 guests. It covers the concept, decor and vendor coordination and full management on the day, with Zaina as your single contact for every supplier.

The fee rises with the number of vendors, venue complexity, a short lead time and long setup hours, and falls when the venue and catering are already booked.

How is baby shower catering priced?

A caterer prices by guest count and what you serve. At a hall or hotel, ask whether there is a catering minimum, because it becomes part of the total.

Ask every caterer to quote the same guest count, menu and service time, so the numbers you compare are quoting the same thing.

Catering is not one of Zaina’s services, but choosing and coordinating the caterer is: Zaina gathers and compares quotes with you and fixes service times in the run sheet. The invoice stays in the caterer’s name and is paid to them directly.

Is a baby shower at home cheaper than a restaurant or hall?

Compare options by guest count, privacy and total cost, not by the price of the space alone.

Home or majlis: the most requested setting for a family celebration. Vendor access, available power, the catering route and seating against the guest count are checked before the setup is confirmed.

Restaurant, hall or hotel: ask about hire, any catering minimum, included tables and chairs, and the setup hours allowed.

Al Ain: vendor travel and setup time are shown in the quote before you commit.

What moves the decor and balloon invoice?

Scale: the backdrop, arch and balloon columns, and the ceiling height that limits them.

Materials: balloons or florals, fresh or artificial.

Personal touches: the theme, palette and a personalised sign.

Setup: the install and dismantle hours the venue allows.

A baby welcome is usually daytime and quieter than a first birthday, which usually adds entertainment and favours — decide early whether yours needs either.

How do you set a budget and compare quotes?

Decide three things first: a date that suits the mother, an expected guest count with a hard maximum, and the setting.

Set a cap for the total, send every vendor the same written brief, and remove any option that exceeds the cap after add-ons.

Compare line by line, not by the total alone, and treat anything a quote does not name as not included until the vendor confirms it in writing.

Book four to eight weeks ahead where possible: enough time to compare quotes and secure a photographer without rush fees. Dates from November to March fill faster.

How does Zaina plan a baby welcome?

Zaina fixes the date, guest count and venue, builds the concept around what you like and lays vendor quotes side by side for you. The choice stays yours, and Zaina works with any vendor you select.

Once scope and fee are fixed in a written quote and contract, every vendor is confirmed before the date, and Zaina leads the setup and the guest arrival through to the end.

It starts with a free 30-minute consultation and a written quote within 48 hours. The portfolio page has short clips of baby welcomes Zaina set up — a balloon arch, a personalised sign, a deer theme — useful for showing vendors the scale you want.
